About Us

What this site is

Vitals Almanac is an independent publication covering practical health reference, nutrition and the supplements people are actually weighing up. We read the research, follow what reputable health and consumer organizations publish, and try to turn it into something a non-specialist can act on without needing a background in the subject.

What we are trying to do

There is no shortage of writing in this space. Much of it is either too technical to be useful or too breathless to be trusted. We aim for the space in between: specific enough to be worth your time, honest enough that you can tell what is established, what is contested and what is simply someone’s opinion.

When evidence is strong, we say so. When it is thin, preliminary or conflicting, we say that too, rather than rounding it up into a headline.

How we are funded

This site is reader-supported through affiliate commissions. Some links here earn us a commission if you buy, at no additional cost to you. Our Affiliate Disclosure explains this in full.

We think the alternative — pretending to have no commercial interest — is worse than disclosing one. You can weigh what we write knowing how we are paid.

What we are not

We are not doctors, and this site is not a substitute for medical care. Nothing published here is intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. If you are deciding whether to start, stop or change a supplement, a medication or a routine, that is a conversation to have with a qualified healthcare professional who knows your history.

Corrections

We get things wrong sometimes. If you spot an error, tell us and we will correct it and note the change. Write to contact@vitalsalmanac.com.

Who is behind it

[Replace this section with the name of the person or company operating Vitals Almanac, a short biography, and any relevant credentials. Google Ads reviewers and readers both look for a real identity here — an About page with no named operator is one of the more common reasons an affiliate site fails review.]
